pavlova bar

A pavlova bar is the perfect light dessert that can be dairy and gluten free if you choose! A pavlova is made from meringue which is a whipped egg white and sugar mixture then cooked on a low heat for a very long time.

What I love about the pavlova bar is that each guest can make it their own and is easy to serve!

ingredients

  • 6 ounces of fresh egg white

  • 12 ounces of white sugar

  • vanilla extract

DIRECTIONs

  1. Pre heat oven to 200 degrees fehrenheit

  2. Using a stand mixer whip the egg white and sugar together on medium (speed 7 on kitchen aid) until it has a VERY stiff peak. Add vanilla extract for flavour once it is stiff.

  3. Take a pipping bag or large zip lock bag if you do not have a pipping bag around and fill with the meringue.

  4. Pipe a large bowl shape onto parchment sheet and continue to fill the pan. (These do not spread out when baking.)

  5. Bake for 1.5 hours

  6. They should be hard on the outside and soft on the inside.

  • Homemade caramel sauce

  • Homemade strawberry compote
